Located on a bluff above the coastal highway (BR 367) about 1.5 km (1 mi) north of Porto Seguro, marking the entrance to the protected channel behind a reef that fringes the coast. O Farol de Porto Seguro é uma farol do Estado da Bahia, no Brasil. Está localizado na Cidade Histórica, numa encosta acima da estrada costeira (BR-367), a cerca de 1,5 km (1 milha) a norte de Porto Seguro, marcando a entrada do canal protegido pelo recife que orla a costa.
Torre de alvenaria quadrada, com galeria e 12 metros de altura, tudo pintado de branco.
Emite dois relâmpagos brancos seguidos por um vermelho, com um período de 30 segundos.

História

De acordo com o IPHAN, Instituto do Património Histórico e Artístico Nacional, o farol terá sido inaugurado no dia 10 de julho de 1907, “em sessão extraordinária do Conselho Municipal de Porto Seguro realizada da Casa de Câmara e Cadeia”, tendo estado presentes, o coronel intendente José Ribeiro Coelho, o representante do governo federal capitão-tenente Heráclito Graça Aranha e o engenheiro Alfredo Setúbal. O primeiro farol terá sido construído num terreno com 60 metros de frente por 60 de fundo, doado pelo município ao Governo Federal.
Em 1947, o antigo farol, que tinha “estrutura de ferro, com escada externa”, foi substituído pela torre actual. Ainda segundo o IPHAN, a obra terá sido efectuada sob a responsabilidade de Mário Seixas Santos, encarregado de sinalização náutica da Bahia. Os materiais necessários à obra terão vindo de Salvador, transportados pelo navio Ilhéus. De então para cá, há registo da demolição do murete que cercava o local, por ordem do perfeito Valdívio Costa, na década de 1980.

Leuchtturm Oberalppass – Der Rhein bis Holland beginnt hier

Symbolisch soll mit dem Leuchtturm die Rhein-Quelle touristisch beworben werden. Die Rheinquelle entspringt in der Nähe vom Oberalppass beim nahen Tomasee. Der Tomasee, die Quelle vom Rhein, kann ab dem Oberalppass in ca. einer guten Stunde zu Fuss erreicht werden.

Leuchtturm und Frachtschiff auf dem Oberalppass

Seit anfangs Oktober 2010 bietet sich auf dem Oberalppass zwischen dem bündnerischen Sedrun und Andermatt im Kanton Uri ein verblüffender Anblick: Auf der Passhöhe von 2046 meter ueber Meer steht ein 10 Meter hoher Leuchtturm. In zwei Jahren soll sich noch ein richtiges Rheinfrachtschiff dazugesellen.
Sedrun GR/ Andermatt UR. – Der rote Leuchtturm ist ein Nachbau des 14 Meter hohen, historischen Leuchtfeuers «Hoek van Holland», das 70 Jahre lang an der Rheinmündung in Rotterdam stand. Er soll dem Frachtschiff den Weg «nach Hause» an die Rheinquelle weisen, so die Geschichte, die sich die Urheber der touristischen Marketingaktion ausgedacht haben.
Das schräge Vorhaben ist Teil der sogenannten «Vision Rheinquelle», die von der Kommunikationsfirma Steiner Sarnen im Auftrag von Sedrun Disentis Tourismus und Schweiz Tourismus entwickelt wurde. Die originelle Aktion soll das touristische Potenzial der am Oberalppass gelegenen Rheinquelle ausschöpfen und entlang des ganzen Flusses für die Attraktivität der Ferienregion werben.
Der ausgemusterte Frachter «Rheinquelle» wird sich im Mai 2012 auf die mehrmonatige Reise von der Rheinmündung an der Nordsee bei Rotterdam zum «höchstgelegenen Rheinhafen» auf dem 2046 Meter hohen Oberalppass machen.
Unterwegs wollen die Touristiker mit verschiedenen Veranstaltungen die Aufmerksamkeit der 50 Millionen Menschen im Einzugsgebiet der Wasserstrasse gewinnen. «Das Schiff als Sympathieträger soll die Herzen der Rheinanwohner mit der Sehnsucht erfüllen, einmal im Leben die Quelle ihres Flusses zu besuchen», sagte Hanno Wyss, Projektleiter von Steiner Sarnen, zur Nachrichtenagentur SDA.
In Basel angekommen, wird das Schiff in mehrere Stücke zerteilt, auf dem Landweg auf die Passhöhe transportiert und dort wieder zusammengeschweisst. Voraussichtlich entsteht im Laderaum ein Rheinmuseum. Was dann mit dem Leuchtturm passiert, ist noch offen
